The reason we use AI bunnies is that many of our users can be very vulnerable and we want AI avatars that are as non threatening as possible.
AI will bring huge changes but it'll be a bumpy ride and a major risk for some kinds of charities, if they ignore it. But we also think AI for non profits is a huge opportunity for everyone in the charity sector. And that the major challenge for the sector isn't the AI itself, but how we enable access to its potential for everyone, not least the small and marginalised groups, who are far too often left behind.

to help all non profits and using it to enable charities to achieve far more.
We are launching an increasing range of AI tools for non profits and charities and have begun migrating all of our systems to a single AI Concierge Service. We're also working to develop AI thinking, tools and processes to support everyone in the sector.

We're subject to all the normal regulation, but also a huge amount of charity and other non-profit regulation and, besides, it takes a lot more to run a non-profit than just the rules. There's a huge amount of advice, resources and help out there. Charity Excellence helps you by tapping into and promoting the huge collective expertise of the sector to make it incredibly quick and simple to find what you need. Tell the tech bunny what you want, and it'll not only check the dozens of regulator websites, but also those of sector professional organisation that provide simple, clear guidance written for non-profits, and will connect you to free expert support and advice.
You first need to register with Charity Excellence - it's free. Login and click AI bunny icon in the bottom right of your screen. The AI bunny on the website provides our welfare services, but cannot write bids.
You'll be asked a series of questions, then the AI bunny will draft a bid. As long as you have the information needed to hand, it should take no more than 10 minutes. Here's everything you need to know to use this service. The in-system AI bunny now also has a charity policy service. Click his Policies button, tell him which one you need and he'll hop off and get it for you to download it in Word.
Do You Need Help? Our estimated 14 million staff and volunteers are brilliant, but work in often very difficult roles and few have access to any formal welfare support. If you need any kind of help, or funding for yourself or your family, including help to protect yourself from abuse, ask the website tech bunny. Chatting to them is completely anonymous. The AI bunny cannot provide advice, but will use what you tell it to source organisations who help people and those that provide financial support.

The AI bunnies do not ask for, nor collect any personal information about you at all. Using them is completely anonymous and no one will ever know what you chatted about.
The AI machine learning software used is provided at no cost by Biomni and the AI bunnies were built and run on an unpaid basis by the Charity Excellence CIO. Help from the tech bunnies is completely free, you can ask as many questions as you want to and use them as often as you wish to.
They are avatars that use AI machine learning, which essentially means that the more they chat to people the better they will get at answering questions. They use an AI platform provided free by Biomni.
The bid writing service uses an interface with the ChatGPT large language model, but remains as simple as all other services to use. You just answer the questions and the etch bunny will do everything for you, then e mail you your funding bid.
The bunnies find what you need using the charity sector knowledge banks we've built for them, but are happy to chat about pretty much anything. Just don't mention the vet or carrots.
We use our in-depth knowledge of the sector to source the best advice we can and then train the AI bunnies, but this is anew technology and we are not lawyers nor accountants and cannot provide professional advice. Moreover, as at Nov 23, the bunnies success rate in answering questions had increased from 73% in Jan 23 to 90%. We will continue to train them, to improve on this, but they are not infallible. When they give you an answer, check to see if this is the help you need and you are comfortable approaching the organisation, or using the online resource, and have a look at the additional prompts they will provide. If you don't get the answer you need, try asking your question in a slightly different way, using different key words.
