The Charity Excellence trustee board is looking to recruit a new finance trustee, but it's not a bean counting role and you may not even be an accountant. You will be joining the largest and fastest growing UK charity community and will use your senior level business strategy and finance expertise to help us scale faster and access the resources and networks we will need to deliver systemic change to the whole charity sector by 2026.

About Us

We think strategically but are tactically very agile and relentlessly focussed on delivering for charities.  Launched in 2018, we reached 50,000 members in 2024, and we're growing at a rate of about 4,000 a month.  We are the largest and fastest growing UK charity community.  In our user feedback monitoring, half rate us 10/10 not only for trustworthiness but also authenticity and ethics.

Our aim is to create systemic change within the sector and, I now reckon, we may well be able to achieve that by our birthday in 2026. To do that, we'll need to.

• Leverage our charity sector 'Big Data'.
• Roll out our social franchising framework and.
• Engage more corporate partners to provide the support and funding we will need.

About You

You may not be an accountant or even working in a charity but.

• You will work at senior level, in a large organisation or at sector level.
• With a good grasp of business finance and strategy and.
• Most importantly, share our passion to deliver fundamental change for the charity sector.

The front line, small and marginalised groups we prioritise will be actively involved in our work but this particular role is focused on supporting us in delivery to scale.

Commitment

You’ll join an active board which meets roughly every six weeks, either online or face-face in London. As well as attending board meetings, our trustees are occasional ambassadors building connections, articulating our vision, and shaping our future.
