Our charity campaign offers free promotion to non profits that provide goods or services to other non profits, either free or charged for. We also promote infrastructure charities, networks and groups to help people support and learn from each other.
In particular, small charities and marginalised groups often struggle to get their message out. We are the a largest and fastest growing UK charity community, so we use our reach to help them. This is a free service for which we receive no payment or funding from anyone.
We've been promoting sister non profits, since we launched Help Finder in 2022 and, in 2024, our Small(s) Christmas Market was very successful. However, our latest fundraising trends analysis shows the fundraising recovery is now at high risk of collapsing, as it did in mid 2023, when the Government cut £1 billion from sector funding. We need to do more.
In response, we're building on our existing promotional work by launching our Better Together campaign #CharitiesHelpingCharities. None of us has much money but every £1 spent on a sister non profit closes the funding gap just a tiny bit and, there are nearly 500k of us. If we all spent on average £200 on a sister non profit, it'd inject £1 billion into the sector and because that'd help to reduce competition for fundraising, even those who don't trade would benefit.
If that's not reason enough, you'll be buying from passionate people who care, showing them you support them and your money will go to those who need it, not profit. Better still, many non profit goods/services are either free, or subsidised or just plain cheaper, because there's no profit margin, so you gain too. What's not to like about that?
Help Finder has nearly 1,600 providers, with everything from laptops, software, equipment and tools, venues, and training to period and hygiene products, furniture, image libraries, food and even fundraising daleks! We also have fundraising support, consultancy, mentoring and coaching, media, PR, marketing, DBS, community accountancy, IT and digital support, DBS, HR and legal. All either free or low cost. Needs more? We have 28 search categories and 11 of these are for free corporate support and funding. For the 160+ infrastructure charities, networks and groups, use the Support Bodies & Regulators search category.
How much does this cost? Exactly the same as all our other services - £0.
Our campaign promotes goods and services, either on a paid for or free basis, nationally, regionally or locally that a reasonable number of non profits would wish to have. We also promote infrastructure charities, networks and groups. It is not for sales to the public (not our audience), nor to promote fundraising or other campaigns.
Non Profits. We are happy to consider promoting any non profit, subject to meeting our campaign requirements and our ethics policy.
Small Charities & Marginalised Groups. However, we always prioritise support for small non profits who struggle to be heard. And also marginalised groups, because they face the biggest challenges and often care for the most vulnerable. For example, the disability, BAME and LGBTQI+ communities, food banks, and homelessness and women's groups.
For Profits. We do promote for profit organisations on Help Finder but only where they offer goods or services that our community are likely to want and these are genuinely free or deeply discounted. We never promote the free but not free offers sent to us. We also have our partners and suppliers and provide paid for advertising. Send up to 75 words, a link and an image. I'll upload you into Help Finder, and do my best to include you in the newsletter (to 85k), post you on social and use your image on our website. You must have appropriate consent for Charity Excellence to use your image. Keep your people safe - do not send high resolution images of people's faces or with personal data embedded.
This is a free service for which we receive no payment or funding from anyone but we do ask that you promote our wider campaign to your own network, via social, newsletters, your website, whatever. Collectively doing so will boost sales for everyone, including your non profit.

Our campaigns are rarely shared by the main sector bodies and, as I'm on the autism spectrum, my press releases are really awful, so we don't get much media coverage either.
