Many small charities and community groups struggle to find charitable grant funding. As I load new records, I assess each grant funder and if it only funds or prioritises small charities and community groups, or is a good fund for them to apply to, it is allocated to the Small Charities search category.
However, community groups tell me they often struggle because many funders require a group to be a registered charity. Consequently, there is now a search category for Community Groups. The Start Ups search category is for grant makers who will support newly formed groups and pilot projects. The Infrastructure search category is for the 100s of small infrastructure charities who often really struggle to secure funding.
